Exercise levels fall off suddenly in girls at about age 14 — by 50%, according to a study by the Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation at Loughborough Unviersity. Boys, by contrast, maintain their exercise levels at a rate almost twice that of the girls. Why the disparity? Girls say it’s to do with being around boys, mostly, and being confused about how to be sporty and also feminine. Should PE classes change? Read the study’s conclusions here.
