votes for 16-year-olds?

Scotland’s largest teaching union, the EIS, says young people at 16, some of whom bear the resonsibilities of taxes, military service, and marriage, ought to have the right to vote, at least in the coming referendum on independence. This is consistent, they point out, with the government’s stated preference for expanding the voting franchise to 16 years.
