Shorter Christmas break in 2016 and 2017?

worst Christmas ever

Children in Edinburgh may get a far shorter Christmas break in 2016 and 2017, according to the Council’s plan for school holidays. This we observed in our ‘provisional dates’ blog posting a month or two ago. Now BBC Scotland draw this heart-stopping possibility to our attention, though they also point out that Edinburgh Council are not planning to cut the length of the Christmas holidays permanently. This shortening of the holidays is proposed for operational reasons only, not change in policy. Consultation on all the proposed dates runs until the end of this month. See our earlier post for details.
