Pupils succeed with new literacy project
Literacy rates across the city are going up, reports the Edinburgh Evening News, thanks to a recent programme, developed by an American publisher, called Fast Track. Nearly 14 percent of S1’s last year were found seriously wanting in basic reading skills. Now, says school psychologist Martin Gemmell, success rates in Fast Track schools are dramatic.
