Open Day at the Leith School of Art

We’ve just learned of an upcoming open day for full-year courses at the Leith School of Art.  It’s on Tuesday, 1st March.  The School invites anyone to visit who may have an interest in joining after they graduate from high school.  They’ll be open from 10am to 3pm, and are happy to conduct portfolio reviews for prospective students who’d like any feedback on their work.  Questions?  Phone Sophia, on 0131 554 5761, or e-mail her, at sophia@leithschoolofart.co.uk.

The National Anti-Bullying Approach: a public forum

Parents, would you like the opportunity to share your thoughts on the refresh of the national anti-bullying approach? NPFS is holding a consultation event which will provide parents with an opportunity to give feedback to the Scottish Government on the proposals.

When? Wednesday 27th January, 6:30pm-8:30pm – refreshments available from 6pm

Where?  National Parent Forum of Scotland offices in Edinburgh (Children in Scotland, First Floor, Rosebery House, 9 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5EZ)

Who is it for? Any parent with a child of school age and an interest in this topic.

Who is running the event? The event is being hosted by NPFS and the discussions will be facilitated by the Scottish Government, with input from respectme, the national anti-bullying service.

Broughton makes Tatler’s list of top UK state schools!

 

Tatler, the high society magazine, has published its third annual guide to the UK’s best state schools.  Guess who made the roster of only 21 secondaries!  Well done, us!  Selection criteria included exam results, class discipline, and extra-curricular opportunities.  The only other Scottish secondary on the list is Glasgow’s Jordanhill.  Read more here.
