Parent and Carer Support and Information Sessions from Edinburgh Council

Following a successful initial session last term, we’re happy to announce a new round of Parent and Carer Support and Information Sessions on Young People’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health issues.  Click here to learn more.  These session have been planned with the support of CAHMS and other relevant organisations.

The sessions will each have a different topic focus. There will also be an opportunity for parents who wish more information or are concerned about their teenager’s emotional wellbeing or mental health to meet other parents and supportive professionals in a safe relaxed environment. Parents and carers of 11-18 year olds from across the city are welcome to attend any of the sessions.

17 September: Come meet other parents!

On Thursday, 17 September, at 6pm, there will be an opportunity to meet fellow parents and carers informally over drinks and nibbles and to find out more about the school, exams and the parent council.  .
 
For those who have time to stay, this will be followed at 6.30pm by a presentation by Susan Bennett, deputy head, on the school’s most recent exam results and trends over the last few years, and the parent council’s annual general meeting.

Annual conference of the National Parent Forum of Scotland

The National Parent Forum of Scotland are delighted to announce that this year’s conference will be held on Saturday 14th November at the University of Strathclyde Technology and Innovation Centre in central Glasgow. The theme of the conference will be attainment and achieving from a parental perspective. The conference is completely free to attend and all are welcome. They are keen to get as many parents along as possible, so please spread this information widely!

On the day there will be a keynote speech and Q&A session, along with full agenda of seminars and workshops run by leading figures in education, and an exciting kids’ programme, including a creche.
