Royal Scottish Academy art honours

Ellen Denholm, 1S1, took 1st prize in the Junior Category on 14 March for an expressive self-portrait at the Royal Scottish Academy.  She was one of around 600 entrants, and came away with £250 for herself, as well as £250 for the school.  Her painting (pictured riight) has been framed by the RSA and will be exhibited at the gallery for several weeks.  Greta Tobermann, 2A2, and Louise Clyne, 2A1, were also awarded “Highly Commended” certificates in the Junior Category – and their work is also at the RSA.  If you’re popping into the RSA New Contemporaries Exhibition you’ll see the girls’ work in the “Friends Room”.
