new Recruitment and Selection training course offered by the Edinburgh Council

The City of Edinburgh Council is offering a new course, on Wednesday, 21 November, 2012, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., at Liberton High School (328 Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh, EH17 7PT), called ‘Recruitment and Selection Training for Parent Council Members.’

This course is to enable Parent Council members to participate in the
recruitment of promoted teachers.

On successful completion of the course, participants will be
able to:

• Understand their roles and responsibilities during the
recruitment and selection process;

• Understand the context and legal framework; and

• Understand the Council’s procedures for recruitment
and selection.

This course is suitable for Parent Council members who will be a part of the Appointments Committee for the recruitment of promoted teachers (Head Teacher, Deputes and Principals). It is intended for those who have never attended a Recruitment and Selection Course with the City of Edinburgh Council.
