Please find here a draft copy of the School session dates for 2014/15.   These have been agreed provisionally by the Local Negotiating Committee for Teachers ( LNCT) and are now being sent to Head Teachers and Parent Councils for comment.  (One note: since many Primary Schools are used as polling stations, the In-service Day on the 7^th May 2015 has been set to coincide with the date for the UK General Election.)

The Council do invite comment from all of us.  Please send any query or observation you may have directly to Wendy.Gray@edinburgh.gov.uk by Wednesday 6^th March.

It would be helpful when replying if you would specify for her which school you are with.

Just to remind parents and carers at this busy time of year, there are several late-January events at Broughton that may need to go in people’s diaries:

Curriculum Evening for S2 Parents at 6.30 on Wed., 23 January.
S5/6 prelims begin at 9:00 on Wed., 30 January.
Full Parent Council Meeting at 18:30, on Thu., 31 January.

Christmas Concert tickets are being printed today and will be available tomorrow.

Dogstar Theatre presents Matthew Zajak’s 2008 Fringe Festival hit, ‘The Tailor of Inverness’ on 14 January, 2013, in the Broughton Theatre. This is a warm-up performance and fundraiser. The following day, the Company set off on a tour to Denmark, Sweden and Ireland.

The play is enormously powerful, and deserves not to be missed. If you’ve not seen it yet, we commend it to you very highly.
