S1 Information Evening: 12 September 2012
There will be an information evening on 12 September from 4.30 – 6.00 for parents interested in finding out more about Learning and Teaching in S1 classes. The evening will take the form of a series of short workshops along with some input from the Senior Leadership team.
Parents wishing to attend are asked to notify Linda Stewart, Depute Headteacher, at 332-7805.
Parent Council General Meeting — calling all parents and carers!
The Parent Council AGM is on Tuesday 18 September, at 7pm in the staff room at Broughton. Please come! You’ll get to know your fellow parents and carers, you’ll meet teachers and staff, you’ll see what projects and issues are currently underway, and we hope you’ll voice your own ideas, offers, and queries! As always, there will be refreshments — just in case you miss your tea.
See you there!
Welcome to 2012-13 — from the Parent Council Chair
Welcome, especially to you new parents and carers, to Broughton High School’s 2012-2013 academic year.
Your Parent Council seeks to keep you informed and supported as your child journeys through Broughton High School. We have meetings, a blog on our website, a regular e-news system, a Facebook page, and a Twitter profile, all managed by a team of volunteers like you, to give everyone the opportunity to be part of the life of our school.
We hope that you will sign up to our blog posts, register to receive e-mails, ‘Like’ us on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.
Do you have news stories to share? Please get in touch. We aim to raise the profile of the school, and we look forward to anything you would like to spread to other parents and carers.
Would you care to volunteer? Our school values and welcomes the help of parents and other family members with activities and events, and in supporting the management of the school. There are formal school organisations, such as the Parent Council, that encourage parental involvement, but there are also many informal ways of helping out. We invite you to join us in any way you can. You can devote as much or as little time as you can spare.
Our AGM and first Parent Council meeting of the year is Tuesday 18 September at 6.30pm, in the school. You are warmly invited to come.
Do help spread the word with fellow parents and help us build a truly engaged parental community.
The Parent Council and I look forward to working with you.
Best wishes from Harald Tobermann, Chair
