Help wanted for maths event at Broughton
Know about maths and free on 31st March? Or know someone else who might be interested? Get in touch with Michael at the email address below.
Developing the Young Workforce invite you to participate in our Maths in Action event at Broughton High School, Edinburgh, on Monday, 31st March, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. This event is designed to bring mathematics to life for our S3 pupils by showcasing its practical applications in various industries.
We are seeking enthusiastic professionals to lead a 20-minute hands-on activity for small groups of 15 pupils, demonstrating how maths is used in the real world. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire young minds, highlight career pathways, and showcase the significance of mathematical skills in your industry.
Your participation will provide invaluable insights and motivation to our pupils as they consider their future career choices.
If you are interested in taking part or would like further details, please contact Michael.Fong@edinburghchamber.co.uk by this weekend.

Feedback needed – CEC inclusion review
Dear Parents and Carers
City of Edinburgh Council have been undertaking an Inclusion Review, the results of which would have an impact on how various education services are staffed and run. If you’ve been to Parent Council meetings you’ll have heard us talk about this. All Parent Councils have now been asked to give feedback, so watch the video and email us your thoughts at intouch@broughtonhighpc.org. PLEASE RESPOND BY SUNDAY 2ND MARCH.
We will then send feedback to the council on behalf of Broughton Parents.

Questions from CEC:
- Do you agree with the overall vision for Inclusive Education in Edinburgh?
- Do you agree with the drivers of this re-organisation?
- What are the benefits of moving to the proposed structure?
- What are your concerns of moving to this proposed structure?
- What ideas do you have to reduce any concerns?
Thanks very much!

Football fundraiser
The school anti-racism group’s Teacher vs Student football fundraiser will be happening on Wednesday the 19th of February, on the astroturf pitch from 3:30-4:30.
This is raising money for a Red Cross appeal which donates towards the humanitarian crises in Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan and Ukraine. You can either bring in a donation that will be collected in buckets on the pitches before the game, or donate on parent pay, so please donate generously. You will be able to find out the student and teacher teams on your house Teams page soon! Hot chocolate will also be available during the match. Please come along and have fun!
