School film fun

Broughton High School Association is organising a special film event while Septemberfest takes a break this year.
The free community cinema event at the school will take place on September 30. At 3.30pm, Despicable Me 3 will be screened indoors for children, with food stalls from 5.30pm. Later that evening at 7.30pm, weather permitting, there will be an outdoors showing of Dunkirk for all the family.
The Association’s Lesley Kelly said: “To make sure that we don’t lose the high level of community engagement achieved through SeptemberFest, this year, the Broughton High School Association is organising a community cinema event. This will be free, though we will have to issue tickets to keep track of numbers.
“We will be looking for volunteers to help out with specific tasks nearer the time, but in the meantime, please do let me know if you are able to help at some point during the event.”

Parentpay on its way

Hello, everybody – a post from the school’s website for your information.

We are pleased to inform you that our school will soon go live with the new online payments system, ParentPay.  It offers a more convenient way to pay for school meals, school ties, fees, excursions, and much more online.

We plan to go live in August 2017.  You will soon receive a letter and information leaflet telling you more about the system, (they will be included in your parent pack for session 2017/18).  Meantime, if you would like to find out more about the system please visit www.edinburgh.gov.uk/parentpaywww.edinburgh.gov.uk/parentpay

In August you will receive a letter with an activation code for the system and instructions on how to activate your account.  Following receipt of this letter the system will be live and ready for use.  We are hopeful that we will be a cashless school very soon, thank you for your assistance.

Last chance for S4/S5/S6 pupil work visits

Dear S4, S5 & S6 Parents,
We have a few places left at a number of career talks in the workplace next week. These have been arranged with local employers, to give young people a chance to see inside real workplaces, give them a flavour of a wide range of career options/ entry routes, ask questions about life in the workplace, and build their confidence in meeting employers for the first time.

Please email me, clerk.bhspc@broughtonhighpc.org ASAP if your child would like a place on one or more of these work visits. Places close on Monday 29th May 2017, and will be given to those that reply first.

Pupils will need to get to the venues themselves and arrive punctually. They will need to be in school uniform, and should first collect a visit form from the school reception desk.
