More Nutshells: new NC assessment types, and senior phase learning pathways

national parent forum of scotland

The National Parent Forum of Scotland ‘nutshells’ synopses have expanded to include the various new assessment styles sanctioned in the National 5 and 6 way of doing things — they can be quite varied, so this is worth a look — and the new and variegated pathways a senior student can take in learning and development.

See the rundown on assessments here, and the pathways here.

More National 5 and Higher ‘Nutshell’ revision resources

The National Parent Forum of Scotland continues to roll out revision resources.  They call these the ‘nutshell’ guides.  They’re very good indeed.  We direct your attention to the National 5 ones here, and the Higher ones here.

University Open Days and Application Dates

getting there

Here’s a table we’re compiling, of university open days and application details for entry in 2016.  It’s a quick-reference tool for all Broughton families readying for the big leap!

If you’re researching this for yourself, and you come across additions or corrections for our table, please e-mail them, if you would, for the benefit of your classmates and their families, to uni.opendays@broughtonhighpc.org.

Going forward, by the way, we’re also working on a way of connecting aspiring applicants from Broughton High with alumni at these various universities.  Watch this space.
