Parent Council meeting – Monday 10th Octoober 6pm at Broughton High School

All parents and carers are welcome to attend our first regular meeting of the school year, which will be held in-person in the school staff room (up the stairs in the Hub and to the right).

We will have updates from the Headteacher and other senior staff, and Parent Council updates. Tea and coffee will be provided.

We would love to see you there – everyone on the Parent Council brings something different and unique and we always welcome new voices who share our passion for the school, our young people, and the community that we are at the heart of. PC meetings are a great chance to find out more about what’s happening at school and to speak to other parents.

For more information email: clerk.bhspc@broughtonhighpc.org

Our plan this year is to alternate in-person and online meetings so that as many people as possible are able to get involved. The next meeting, on Monday 14th November, will be held online.

BHSA meeting – Thursday 6th October 7.30pm

BHSA (fundraising and fun team) are meeting on Thursday 6th October, 7.30pm at The Place – the rugby club on Raeburn Place. Entrance is up the stairs just next to the Co-op.

All welcome, especially new members! This is a friendly and informal meeting and we’re keen to hear new ideas. For more info email Lesley at: bhsassociation@gmail.com .

Even if you can’t come along, you can help our next fundraising effort by sharing your go-to recipes! See https://broughtonhighpc.org/bhsa-cook-book-we-need-your-recipes/ for details.

BHSA news – thank you and recipe request

Many thanks to everyone who donated their delicious home baking and/or volunteered at our stall at the Dean Gardens open day yesterday. Your cakes and treats drew the crowds, and we raised nearly £500, which will go towards supporting activities and equipment at the school which can’t be funded through their budget. This was our first fundraiser since March 2020 and a great start to the school year!

We need your recipes!

Our next project is to produce a fundraising cook book, but we need your recipes to share!

We’re looking for a range of wonderful dishes:

* signature bakes like yesterday’s bestsellers
* a dish that reminds you of home
* easy family dinners
* the dish you think every young person should be able to make

We are open to all ideas from staff, pupils and parents and carers!

***Please don’t copy directly from someone else’s website or recipe book – that could get us into trouble with copyright.*** Your own twist on a classic recipe is fine, though.

You can use this form to share your recipe with us or email: bhsassociation@gmail.com. Photos would be great, too! https://forms.office.com/r/rxFqnBC25s

We look forward to trying out some of your recipes and hope to have a wonderful book ready in time for Christmas. If you have any questions or if you can help us with publishing suggestions, please email bhsassociation@gmail.com .

Thank you!
Lesley and the BHSA committee
