Positive Parenting Course, 1 September 2015

Edinburgh Council run short courses on parenting 11 to 16-year-olds, called ‘Teen Triple P’.  They’re free for parents and carers of city schoolchildren.  The next one in our area is on Tuesday, 1 September, at the Pilton Youth and Children’s Project, from 10 to 12 o’clock.  Look here for all the details.

ROAD CLOSURES from 29 June

There will be a series of diversion works for 1-2 days from the 29th June on Comely Bank.  The road will be closed between Crewe Road South and Fettes Avenue (at Waitrose) for essential tree cutting works.  More information from Lee Hally, North Area Roads Team, 0131 529 3438.

More Nutshells: new NC assessment types, and senior phase learning pathways

The National Parent Forum of Scotland ‘nutshells’ synopses have expanded to include the various new assessment styles sanctioned in the National 5 and 6 way of doing things — they can be quite varied, so this is worth a look — and the new and variegated pathways a senior student can take in learning and development.
