Call for cafe volunteers at the Pipe Band Competition this Sunday

The Broughton High School Association will be providing a cafe service at this annual event on Sunday 13th March 9am-5pm.  If you’re free to help for an hour or so, they would love to hear from you.  It’s an exceptionally busy event and a super fundraising opportunity for the school.  Also, any home baking contributions will be welcome.
Please let Carol Melee know if you can help by Wednesday 9th March, at carole.m@talktalk.net.

the stand

Now that all the ticket money is in, Jane Bremner reports that the final figure for the Comedy Benefit Night at the Stand is £1,054, which is amazing!

Huge thanks to Tom and Trudy Stade, she says, for organising the whole event with the Stand and for persuading so many great acts to take part. Also thanks to all the Broughton Association team and the School Office for selling so many tickets.   It was a great evening!

Volunteers needed

project trust

Ella Duffy, 6th year, is fundraising for a charity called Project Trust, with whom she will be volunteering in her gap year in Guyana. She needs volunteer supervisors for an event she is organizing for 13 December (Friday). This is a Christmas ‘Jingle Ball’, with live music from a few bands from within and outside school, and tickets will be sold to S4-S6 students from Broughton and other schools. She is required to have a 1:10 adult-to-young-person ratio. She currently has 15 teachers to help; she anticipates needing 15 more adult volunteers.

Would you would be willing to supervise from the balcony in the Hub, from 6:15pm (the event starts at 6:30) until 9:30pm? Please drop us an ‘intouch’ e-mail if you can, and we’ll let Ella know she has more help.
