We need a born organiser. Someone needs to ensure that we meet once a term, circulate agendas to keep us focused, and take a note of meetings to share with people who can’t attend. Now and again this person would also liaise with the PC Chair. Could you be this person, the contact point for your Communications group? Please say the word if you’d like to help us!
Bigger, better! Broughton High School Website now Live!
The new, improved school website is now live! See it now, at www.broughton.edin.sch.uk.
This has been a big project, two years in coming, but it’s up and running now, bringing you easy access to school information, and updated newsfeeds all the time, just like you get from the Parent Council. The Comms Group are grateful to the many people who have worked steadily to make it happen, like Joanna Goddard, Graeme Robertson, Duncan Fisher, Trudy Stade, and Gavin Gray, and on staff, Pauline Cumming, Depute Head. Some of the content is yet to be finalized. Please take a look, and send any observations or suggestions you may have to admin@broughton.edin.sch.uk. Meanwhile, be sure to register your e-mail address for news updates!
reminder: AGM tonight, with S1 parents get-together first!
Don’t forget, the Parent Council’s annual general meeting is tonight, at the school, at 7:00 p.m. For S1 parents who want to meet each other, there’s a social hour beforehand, at 6:00 (logically enough).
You’re invited to read the reports and accounts beforehand, online, for the detailed view of everything that’s going on.

“Communications Committee,” that is. We’re the people who bring you the blog, Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail postings. We’ve had two people redeploy elsewhere, so we’re really needing someone to schedule and record our meetings (there’s only a few a year), and also send out a couple “Mailchimp” e-bulletins (already compiled, just need sending). Everything is set up already and runs fine, so the work level is not onerous, and we work closely together, so you’d never be alone with the task. Would you consider joining us as Comms Committee Coordinator? We’re looking to complete our new website and prospectus projects for the school, so this is an exciting time to be involved! ‘Comms’ Group meeting tonight
Just a reminder, that the Communications Group within the Parent Council will be meeting tonight at Broughton at 8 pm. This is to review objectives for the year, and agree actions.
