CV workshops – volunteers needed
Broughton High School runs workshops on CV writing and interview practice in May each year for a number of S4 pupils.
These will be happening on Thursday 11th May between 10am and 1pm and the school is looking for parents to volunteer to come in and help students develop their employability skills.
Additionally, between Monday 29 May and Friday 2 June, the school is trying to organise a number of different work visits for pupils, giving them the opportunity to visit a local workplace, in small groups of two or three, and help for an hour.
The aim is to increase their confidence and give them an additional item for their CV.
Please contact Aletta Ritchie at clerk.bhspc@broughtonhighpc.org if you can volunteer on 11th May or provide a work visit.
Lucie’s charity ceilidh
S6 pupil Lucie Duffy is leaving Edinburgh in August to spend a year in Ghana teaching with the educational charity Project Trust and she will be holding a charity ceilidh on April 1 to raise funds. She needs all the help she can get to meet her target, so please come along to St Stephens Church hall in Comely Bank and ceilidh the night away. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children. You can find out more information here www.facebook.com/LucieInGhana or at www.projecttrust.org.

42 bus
A number of parents have expressed concern about recent changes by Lothian Buses to the No 42 route, which will no longer serve Blackhall, Drylaw and Davidson’s Mains from April 23. This will have an impact on many pupils before and after school, especially those at the music school carrying heavy instruments. If you have any views on this, please could you make them known to the parent council at intouch@broughtonhighpc.org
