student audience wanted for BBC’s Question Time in Edinburgh!
If you are 16 or 17 years of age and would like to take part in the studio audience of BBC Question Time, hosted by David Dimbleby on Thursday, 13th June 2013, please contact Alison or Roy, at 01299 829299.
Arrival time for the show willl be 6.00 – 6.30 p.m., and it’s being broadcast from the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.
Present on the question panel will be Ruth Davidson MSP, Leader of the Scottish Conservatives, Anas Sarwar MP, Deputy Leader of Scottish Labour, Angus Robertson MP, Leader of the SNP at Westminster, George Galloway MP, Respect MP, and Lesley Riddoch, Scotsman columnist.
Broughton Seniors on the BBC!
Two senior pupils, Daniel McIvor and Tom Bagshaw, inspired by the recent ‘Question Time’ style event run by the school, are now to appear on the real BBC show itself this Thursday. They were selected for questions they submitted about the referendum for Scottish independence. Read the whole exciting account in the Edinburgh Reporter!
The show screens this Thursday at 10.35 p.m. on BBC1, featuring a special audience of mostly young people.
Project Trust: another great way to volunteer
You may be aware that Project Trust, a widely respected educational charity, that sends about 250 gap-year volunteers to 23 countries annually, is coming to Broughton to speak to S5 and S6 students on Wednesday, 12th June. Some S6 students will be involved in Buddying training then, and will not be on hand to hear. For them, and for anyone else who wants to learn more about this remarkable enterprise, there is an Open Afternoon, on Saturday 29th June, at the Quaker Meeting House, 7 Victoria Terrace, Edinburgh EH1 2JL, from 1 to 3 p.m. This is an opportunity to drop in, with parents and friends, and learn more about about an exciting way to live and grow with our friends overseas.

The Broughton High School Partnership Group invites you to a showcase event, on Wednesday, 5 June, 2-3 p.m. The purpose of this event is to show how pupils benefit from the many business and support partnerships that are currently underway. We want to highlight how positive these have been for our young people and our community. And we want to grow with it, reaching out more and more to area businesses and our youth. Please come see us!
